In December 2008 WikiPathways [switched](http://scienceblogs.com/commonknowledge/2008/12/getting_it_right_wikipathways_1.php) to CC-BY, which is compliant with the [Open Knowledge Definition](http://opendefinition.org). On the [license terms](http://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/WikiPathways:License_Terms) page it says:

> WikiPathways content is covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license, which states that you are free to share (copy, distribute and transmit) and remix (adapt) the work as long as you attribute the work in the manner specified in our terms of use.
