The Statistical Abstract files are distributed by the US Census Department as Microsoft Excel files. These files have data mixed with notes and references, multiple tables per sheet, and, worst of all, the table headers are not easily matched to their rows and columns.
A few files had extraneous characters in the title. These were corrected to be consistent. A few files have a sheet of crufty gibberish in the first slot. The sheet order was shuffled but no data were changed.
The tables that were changed (this is table 361):

This dataset consists of a table of 30 rows and 7 columns.
PM-10 is equal to or less than ten microns in diameter; PM-2.5 is equal to or less than 2.5 microns effective diameter. Methodologies to estimate data for 1970 to 1980 period and 1985 to present emissions differ. Beginning with 1985, the methodology for more recent years is described in the document available at < http://www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/net/2002inventory.html >
- Represents both PM-10 and PM-10 fugitive dust; see table 360.
- Includes emissions from farm tractors and other farm machinery,
construction equipment, industrial machinery, recreational marine vessels,
and small general utility engines such as lawn mowers.
- Includes emissions such as from forest fires and other kinds of burning,
various agricultural activities, fugitive dust from paved and unpaved
roads, and other construction and mining activities, and natural sources.
