and it is likewise a sordid study of many issues with respect to Hydrofracking that beg
… no make that rather scream to be addressed by the natural gas industry before it proceeds
full bore (no pun intended) on their mandate to exploit all natural gas shale deposits in the
United States but especially the Marcellus Shale located in the northeast.

From the respect of the natural gas industry it would be most convenient and expedient for
them to realize their horizontal shale drilling “Manifest Destiny” with least resistance having
to answer to the least organized, unstandardized, funded and overall ill-equipped oversight
authority; namely state governments.

The road that paved the way to the natural gas industry’s carte blanche freedom to side-step
any pesky annoying federal bureaucratic impediments to their quixotic vision that natural gas
can be a major, or even the primary cog to America’s energy independence solution is the well
known, well documented Haliburton / Cheney "Hydrofracking end around where all aspects of
Hydrofracking; from the use and divulging of explicit information on the toxic, carcinogenic
chemicals it uses in its “slick water brews” to the amount of natural gas (methane) that escapes
causing lung burning ozone pollution is exempt from federal oversight.

Literally, the road that paved the way to the natural gas industry’s de facto full autonomy to
conduct Hydrofracking operations at their whim and carpice under weak individual weak state
oversight if they get their way will mean an immediate to long term severe threat to roads
especially in the northeast where heavy duty Hydrofracking operations will take place
integrated where people reside on a much larger scale than sparsely populated Wyoming and
Colorado.

The extent of the exemptions bestowed on natural gas industry is described in jaw dropping
detail in Josh Fox’s famous documentary Gasland and it is referenced in thousands of online

There is no inherent “clean” source of energy, especially in the production of it whatever it
may be: coal, nuclear, and “classic” natural gas production i.e. Hydrofracking not being
conducted on a large scale, or perhaps any, scale. Care must taken to compare options
and mitigate damages; in other words make the best choice out of several alternatives
each respectively replete with their own nasty health endangering aspects.

Unfortunately, almost all facets of your life keeping you continued under the definition of
“being alive” both in the short and long term respects is contingent upon not only the U.S.,
but the world wisely picking its poisons that bad water, food and cholera or better put;
make that no water, food, antibiotics etc. ad infinitum won’t kill you first.

That said, on balance all the adverse aspects of Hydrofracking; the huge amount of water
involved with the operation of each well that will be intentionally polluted not only with
chemicals but made radioactive from the flowback of uranium and radium deep within the
earth, the fossil fuels burned to construct the Hydrofracking drilling pads each containing
multiple and transport the water to and from them is NOT balanced with respect to other
energy source production under current conditions.

The $64,000 or better put the multi-billion dollar question is the actual environmental
impact of Hydrofracking as a whole. Obviously if the cost of safeguards to adequately
protect landowners who lease their land for Hydrofracking wells and then the general
public is too large, there becomes a point where it would not be cost-effective to conduct
Hydrofracking operations especially in the Marcellus Shale i.e. the northeastern U.S.
regardless how high the cost of oil (gasoline) may go.

This is not a good paradigm for the natural gas industry that already has billions of dollars
vested in the notion of exploiting the natural gas of the Marcellus Shale at full bore. Much
of this concern was immediately alleviated by the aforementioned Cheney / Halliburton
Hydrofracking exemptions which literally gave instant across-the-board immunity to the
natural gas industry.

From the moment the figurative “dead-of-night” exemptions were enacted in 2005:

the natural gas industry’s “Hydrofracking Survivor Immunity Card” has been if the chemicals
and escaping well head methane gas air pollution etc. are indeed so bad … how is it that the
exemptions were ever permitted in the first place? The answer of course is with enough
money, power and influence nuclear power plants can be constructed in earthquake prone
areas and as Japan is the perfect storm poster child example some of the biggest nuke
plants in the world can be constructed on the most earthquake prone areas of the world.

Nobody figured on a 9.0 earthquake in the same regard as new independent Hydrofracking
studies and results are now slowly seep their way into the public’s consciousness it’s starting
to appear nobody took into consideration the extent many of the dangers it imposes.

A dramatic example of this is a groundbreaking study conducted by Drs. Robert Jackson and
Avner Vengosh of Duke University citing test results of natural gas water well contamination
that could only come from deep earth sources i.e. Hydrofracking and beyond the expected
distance where such results would previously been expected if at all:

and critics warn that acute environmental contamination is possible. A 2010 documentary

Duke University’s research showed a definite correlation, but gas industry sources
dismissed the research on the grounds that it did not include any baseline data to prove
that drilling is what caused the methane contamination (Note: these are the same people

The severe significance of Jackson and Vengosh’s results coupled with the stonewalling
of the unforthcoming attitude of the natural gas industry lead to serious charges by the
two Duke researchers that the natural gas industry is withholding key information and data
essential to the health and welfare of the public.

It may well be that the natural gas industry with the Cheney / Halliburton exemption on their
side purposely did not collect any baseline data; i.e. water sampling of wells, ponds and/or
streams on the properties of their leaseholders in anticipation of just such situations.

They (the natural gas industry) isn’t required to take water samples, they of course don’t since
they don’t have to, research finds or uncovers hostile results, they volley back there is no
baseline information and shale areas indeed might have a higher than average naturally
occurring natural gas presence and the same (il)logic applies to all aspects of Hydrofracking
for the industry.

It is obvious that the natural industry is being blatantly disingenuous with the American public
that if its Hydrofracking operations are indeed so benign they would be countering negative
accusations with their own independent statistics in their ubiquitous ads left and right rather
than just focusing on broad the energy independence theme and even in his respect there
are no figures, statistics graphs etc. indicating exactly where enhanced natural gas
exploitation by Hydrofracking is really going to make that big of a dent in America’s
dependence on foreign oil.

The particular essence of this dataset is really the essence of them all: to create a
historical record, an accounting of what was known, released and/or withheld by the
natural gas industry for immediate use and at least for posterity.

It is interesting to note while the different datasets’ names and terms may appear to
have an anti-Hydrofracking bias, explicit verified corroborated facts and figures are
inherently unbiased.

There is enough rote generalized feces being flung by the pro and con Hydrofracking
contingents at each other and the old generalized accusations just lead to the same
old generalized retorts and the overall result is all the excrement just gets evenly
distributed; that’s all.

Collection of succinct, tangible, verified and corroborated data and then the meticulous
documentation and categorization of it is really the true objective of these Hydrofracking
datasets.

This is where the Duke study is so important; it is surprisingly among the first large
scale studies whose results are, and will continue to be, problematic for the natural
gas industry in the same genre as those of Dr. Al Armendariz of Southern Methodist
University that escaping natural gas emissions from wells in the Fort Worth area
exceed those of cars in the area:

The “Inference matrix” is a powerful reformat of the “base data” I generate from
my app where from inference or extrapolation of currently up to 255 terms the user
can make an unprecedentedly accurate determination if the given web page or online
.PDF document warrants further scrutiny and examination.

The “terms” can be any combination of proper, place or company names, technical,
medical or generic terms and/or just "regular words in any language or better put
any language’s alphabet or character set that is represented on the Internet.

The idea is basic search terms are put through a search engine and then respectively
for each of the each web page or online PDF document links (URLs) that are returned
(i.e. search results), the HTML or text of the given web page/PDF doc is further searched
for the presence of the up to 255 user names, terms and words just mentioned; the
maximum number of columns in an Excel spreadsheet.

the web page URL/link is the “key” and the terms are associated with the web

The new format has the terms as the key and the URLs/links as the data. Thus,
if you want to quickly see the Internet presence or “Internet footprint” of a
Hydrofracking chemical that may be the root of your rare form of cancer you look
down the column of the Excel file. If you quickly want to see other chemical names
that may be on the same web page or .PDF doc, you look at the rows.

For those of you familiar with Microsoft Excel I want to remind you of and for those
of you new to Excel I want to relate to you a nifty Excel feature that will enhance
your viewing of these Hydrofracking Inference Matrices.

It is the “Freeze Frame” feature. The idea here is to freeze the first row of the
spreadsheet which are located all the “Auxiliary” terms which are the headers for
the columns containing the URLs/links that contain the given Auxiliary term.

Thus as you scroll down you don’t need to make time consuming notes what
column is for what Auxiliary term or constantly return to row 1 for reference.

To implement the Freeze frame by an easy keyboard sequence first set set your
Excel focus (cursor) to Cell B1. Now press [Alt][w] in combination as you press
the [Shift] key to capitalize a letter. An Excel drop down menu should appear
showing Freeze Panes with the F of Freeze underlined. Now merely press F.
The case does not matter for the W or F.

There – The first row should be frozen as you scroll down the spreadsheet. To
undo just repeat the two step procedure.

As you probably know Hydrofracking abounds with controversy. The
Inference Matrix is an unprecedented tool to get to the web pages
closest to or exactly in the ballpark of your interest.
