Diagnosis-related group (DRG) is a system to classify hospital cases into one of approximately 500 groups expected to have similar hospital resource use, developed for Medicare as part of the prospective payment system. These codes are used on inpatient hospital bills in the USA.

This spreadsheet contains descriptions of DRG codes for FY2005, also referred to as version 23. The original version of this data was published by CMS as a PDF.
