Class of Worker by Sex and Selected Characteristic: 2005

The Statistical Abstract files are distributed by the US Census Department as Microsoft Excel files. These files have data mixed with notes and references, multiple tables per sheet, and, worst of all, the table headers are not easily matched to their rows and columns.

A few files had extraneous characters in the title. These were corrected to be consistent. A few files have a sheet of crufty gibberish in the first slot. The sheet order was shuffled but no data were changed.

The tables that were changed (this is table 586):

This dataset consists of a table of 29 rows and 11 columns.

In percent, except as indicated (10,464 represents 10,464,000). Civilian noninstitutional population 16 years old and over. Annual averages of monthly figures. Based on Current Population Survey; see text, Section 1, Population, and Appendix III

Footnotes

  1. Excludes the incorporated self-employed.
  2. For persons in this race group only.
The 2003 Current Population Survey (CPS) allowed respondents to choose
more than one race. Beginning 2003, data represent persons who selected this race group
only and exclude persons reporting more than one race. The CPS in prior years only allowed
respondents to report one race group. See also comments on race in the text
    for Section 1, Population.
  3. Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin may be of any race.
  4. Excludes the incorporated self-employed.
  5. For persons in this race group only. See footnote 3, Table 577.
